On Wednesday we hosted a sports bra event in collaboration with Panache. We were joined by Carla, a sports bra expert from Panache, who provided a lot of useful advice and guidance about sports bras including how they should fit and feel.
We are really excited to announce that Kinisi Run Hub will start offering sports bra fitting services this summer! This week’s event kick started this initiative and gave us a far better understanding of what to expect and ways to improve moving forward.
Despite being an essential piece of kit, most women are wearing the wrong bra size. According to research, up to 80% of women are wearing the incorrect bra size. Usually the back size is too large and the cup size is too small. Women often wear the wrong size because they don’t know how the bra should look and feel.
However, for women, a proper-fitting sports bra is as important as a good pair of shoes. Not only can a sports bra improve performance but more importantly it will lessen breast pain and lower the risks of breast damage.
Poor-fitting sports bras lead to excessive breast movement which can lead to stretching, irreparable damage and pain. Conversely, properly-fitted sports bras improve breast position and spine rotation by repositioning body tissue which increases performance and allows you to move freely.
There is so much to consider when fitting a sports bra it can become a bit overwhelming however, most breast and bra issues are resolved through education, advice and fitting. Stay tuned for more updates about our upcoming events and services!
