Our 30-minute Movement Analysis appointments take traditional gait analysis a step further, combining specialist running knowledge and one-to-one advice with technology to help find the right running shoes for you.
We'll take the time to understand your running history, current footwear, goals and individual needs before analysing how you move on our 10-metre Mondo track and Footscan® pressure plates.
The technology provides us with useful data, but it's our experience and expertise — combined with how each shoe fits, feels and performs for you — that guides our recommendations so you can choose the right shoe to experience your best run!
Intuition and Science Combine
Sometimes you just know when a running shoe is right but to give that peace of mind, we incorporate technology to analyse how you move ensuring the shoe suits your unique movement style, also known as running gait.
In our Bristol-based store, we have a 10 meter Mondo track and Footscan® pressure plates to conduct a gait analysis. Running on a track allows you to move more naturally than on a treadmill. The pressure plate captures your foot strike and develops a heat map of your heel-to-toe transition highlighting pressure points.
Unlike when filming on a treadmill, we analyse your foot strike side-by-side on a screen. This provides a more accurate picture of how you are moving, allowing us to make informed decisions and recommend the most suitable running shoes for you!
