On Thursday the 9th October we were invited to the Assembly in central Bristol to deliver a “Beginner to Progressing Running” workshop. The business park houses the offices of many big businesses such as BT and Knight Frank LLP. We provided advice and guidance on how to get started and progress your running followed by a short lunch time run!

It always touches me when we are invited to deliver sessions like these as it reminds me we must be doing something right and making an impact in the local Bristol running to be identified as reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy speakers.
The event at Assembly started off with a brief overview about Kinisi Run Hub, how we got started and what we offer. Next we had a discussion about why the participants were there and what their current relationship with running is like. This was followed by an informal presentation delivered by Megan and myself about some tips and tricks to get more into running, things to think about when starting out and ways to build up your running. We focused on aspects such as pacing, kit and nutrition.
After this we went for a short run around Bristol and gave everyone a pair of demo Hylo Impact trainers to trial during the run. We made sure to include a few good locations that can be incorporated into run routes such as Castle Park, Queen Square and the harbour. It was a lunchtime session so everyone appreciated getting out for some fresh air to break up the work day. When we finished the run we ended with a short debrief to discuss some recovery techniques and think about future running goals.

Thank you very much to Assembly Bristol for selecting us to deliver the Beginner to Progressing Running workshop and thank you to all the employees from the building who attended the event and listened to what we had to say!
