On Friday we went to Bitton to help Chris Ritchens celebrate his 200th day of running at least 5km a day to inspire others to look after their mental health through physical activity. The evening was a celebration of the movement he has started and it was great to see so many runners and local businesses supporting.
The event took place at the Chew Valley Distillery which provided an ideal HQ with plenty of space and the bar for drinks afterwards. Over 250 runners showed up for the event which started with a speech from Chris about the last 200 days and then we set off on a 5km run or 30 minute walk out and back along the Bristol-Bath cycle path by the Avon Valley railway station.

We were there supporting the event with a pop-up shop and we also got Brooks involved to offer participants a shoe demo. The Glycerin 23, Glycerin GTS 23 and Glycerin Flex were all on offer for people to try out on the run for free. This was well received and lots of people borrowed shoes.

Other local businesses got involved too. Cadbury Heath supported by providing 200 special designed t-shirts for people to run in and commemorate the event. Our friends from Blue Sky Physiotherapy were there offering post-run treatment and recovery tools for people to trial. Some local food trucks also showed up to keep everyone fed and the Chew Valley Distillery had the bar open for plenty of post-run drinks. A special edition was Run Finder Ben on the DJ decks soundtracking the whole event!
A big thank you to Chris and the rest of the GY30 team for organising a great event and getting us involved. Well done to everyone who took part and completed the 5k distance to raise awareness for an amazing cause. Kinisi Run Hub are proud to support all these local runners!
