On Monday the 3rd November, we joined forces with the Left Handed Giant Run Club for a Merrell Demo Event! It was great to collaborate with one of Bristol’s biggest running clubs to test out Merrell’s new and innovative hybrid road-to-trail shoe the ProMorph.
A big thank you to Tom from Merrell for bringing along so many shoes for us to test and to the LHG Run Club leaders for leading the runs! There were two run options, an 8km around the harbour and an 11km that incorporated parts of Ashton Court. We demoed the Merrell ProMorph which is a hybrid road-to-trail shoe and everyone who attended received a pair to test.
We met at the LHG Brewpub in the centre of town where everyone picked up a pair of shoes and we gave a brief overview of our shop, Merrell and the ProMorph. After the run we returned to the brewpub for some well-deserved post-run drinks from the Left Handed Giant!

This highly versatile shoe is an ideal option for running in Bristol. Living in a city makes it highly likely that you will have to run on the roads to get to the trails but it is not very comfortable wearing a trail shoe on the roads plus the hard surfaces can wear down the grippy outsole. Our local trail routes, such as Ashton Court, the Downs and Blaise Castle are not super technical meaning you usually don’t need a full-on trail shoe however would benefit from some additional grip which is where this shoe comes into it’s own. Expect comfort on the roads but plenty of underfoot traction on the trails.
