On Friday evening we hosted a Motivational Mindset Workshop delivered by award-winning mind & body coach Kim Ingleby. She explored ways to help participants unlock their running mindset to boost performance for their 2026 running goals. This event was organised in collaboration with the Bristol Running Show / The Running Workshops and was the first in a two-part series.
Kim is the founder of Energised Performance and a world-renowned performance coach. She has over 20 years of experience working with elite athletes, Strictly Come Dancing professionals, global CEOs and the general public. Kim has overcome much adversity in the form of personal health challenges which has developed her deep understanding of mental performance. She is a TEDx speaker and author as well as seasoned athlete, having represented Team GB in Age Group Triathlon, completed multiple “wild” marathons, and finished an Ironman.

It was great to welcome such an open and engaged group of local runners to our shop and be able to help them develop their mindset to set themselves up for a great year of athletic performance. Kim started the talk outlining her background and experiences, such as overcoming Weil’s disease. that have developed her perspective and coaching practices. Her unique blend of expertise and lived resilience allows her to deliver practical strategies we can use to help both body and mind.
Next Kim challenged us to think about our “Why” for taking part in running and exercise. This allowed everyone to then create one (or more) goals they would like to achieve in 2026 to help their running. Everyone reflected for some time before a few shared their motivations. Following this we had an open discussion and Q&A to pick Kim’s brains and gain more clarity on how to stay motivated when things get tough.
The techniques Kim outlined will help us learn how to silence our inner critic, overcome self-doubt and build unwavering confidence when facing challenges and adversity. Building mental resilience makes it much more manageable to navigate setbacks, injuries and race-day nerves to perform at a higher level.

We were very happy with how the workshop went because it was such an engaged group of runners who truly valued the opportunity to learn from Kim. We all left with ideas and specific actions to implement to unlock our mindsets and boost performance in 2026 and beyond.
Thank you very much to Kim for leading the Motivational Mindset Workshop and to Abichal from the Bristol Running Show for helping to organise the event. We are excited to welcome Kim back to the shop for a follow-up workshop in March that will focus on creating a Race Day Mindset. Keep an eye out for more details soon.
