Archies was founded to address a gap in the flip flop market. The founder, Dan, was working as a private practice physiotherapist in Australia and noticed that many of his patients had issues caused by traditional flat footwear. With it being Australia, many people wear flip flops and slides but Dan couldn’t find any that he would recommend as none had any arch support. So he decided to create his own!

Archies was born to offer flip flops and slides that offer orthotic support by putting the feet in a more optimal biomechanical position but look just like “normal” flip flops and slides. By improving postural alignment of the feet, the products enhance lower limb mechanics resulting in less energy exertion, effortless walking, faster athletic recovery and overall healthier feet.

So what’s wrong with typical slides?

1. They are flat and offer the feet no support – when walking the foot and lower limb/leg rolls in causing a disruption to the body’s natural alignment which alters the way that stress and strain are absorbed through the body
2. They have loose straps which alter your normal gait – a loose strap causes the toes to “claw” and work harder to keep the slides on the feet
