On Monday we hosted a sports bra fitting event in collaboration with Panache. We were joined by Carla, a sports bra expert from Panache, who conducted one-on-one sports bra fittings to identify everyone’s correct bra size and was on hand to answer any sports bra-related questions.
We are excited to now be offering more formal sports bra fitting services in our Bristol shop! If you are interested in having a personalised sports bra fitting please get in touch and we can advise accordingly. In the future we are going to have a more formalised booking system for this service but we are still getting it established. We have three very competent members of our team in Carole, Megan and Jo who have been trained to fit sports bras.
Despite being an essential piece of kit, most women are wearing the wrong bra size. According to research, up to 80% of women are wearing the incorrect bra size. Usually the back size is too large and the cup size is too small. Women often wear the wrong size because they don’t know how the bra should look and feel.
However, for women, a proper-fitting sports bra is as important as a good pair of shoes. Not only can a sports bra improve performance but more importantly it will lessen breast pain and lower the risks of breast damage.
Poor-fitting sports bras lead to excessive breast movement which can lead to stretching, irreparable damage and pain. Conversely, properly-fitted sports bras improve breast position and spine rotation by repositioning body tissue which increases performance and allows you to move freely.
There is so much to consider when fitting a sports bra it can become a bit overwhelming however, most breast and bra issues are resolved through education, advice and fitting. Stay tuned for more updates about our upcoming events and services!
