On Wednesday the 30th April we had our first event in the 2025 Kinisi Run Hub Festival of Running. It was a running nutrition workshop delivered by Purendure. Everyone had the chance to demo the gels on a 5k run before a brief presentation and Q&A!

A big thank you to Hayley, the co-founder of Purendure, for bringing down so many gels for us to test and for leading the nutrition workshop! Everyone tested some gels and learnt a lot about fuelling for 10k & half marathon events!
Purendure was founded to address a significant gap in the sports nutrition market. By combining “PURE” ingredients with “ENDURANCE” sports, the products offer a natural, fruity and clean alternative to traditional energy gels. Purendure gels deliver 100% natural energy through real, wholesome fruit and contain just 4 ingredients, compared to the industry standard 10-15 ingredients many of which are artificial and additives. This British-based start-up is changing the sports endurance market and we are incredibly excited to be working with them!

Purendure have two flavours of gels, mango and banana, and everyone had the opportunity to trial both.
Both options are formulated with real fruit to provide fast and sustained energy. Only 4 natural ingredients provide 22g of carbohydrates from the banana flavour and 25g of carbohydrates from the mango flavour. The naturally occurring vitamins and minerals combine with a touch of added salt to help replenish electrolytes lost during physical activity.

We had a good turnout for our Purendure event with a mix of returning and new faces. We were pleased to welcome the Local Legends Running Club from down the road on North Street who included the event in their weekly Wednesday evening run.
Once everyone arrived we trialled some gels and then set off on a social 5k run around the harbour. It was a perfect evening for it with blue skies and sunshine. The delicious energy gels kept our energy levels high despite the warm weather!

Following the run we returned to the shop and rehydrated with some kombucha kindly supplied from our neighbours at Counter Culture! After this the running nutrition workshop began.
Hayley gave us a brief history of Purendure and what life has been like the first year before getting into the nutrition specifics. The session was specifically focused on fuelling for 10k and half marathon distances. Hayley outlined building up to the events, race day morning, what to take during the event and then post-event recovery. It was informative, interesting and very useful for those prepping for the upcoming Bristol 10k & Half Marathon!
Following this we had an open Q&A where people could ask questions and gain more insight into fuelling to help them develop their nutrition strategy for race day!

Come in-store today to learn more about this unique brand and test out Purendure energy gels for yourself!
