Kinisi Run Hub x HWF x Stay Dialled x TYR  — Running Together for Arthur

On Wednesday evening, the Bristol running community came together for something much bigger than running shoes, PBs or training miles.

HWF Fitness, Stay Dialled Run Club and Kinisi Run Hub joined forces for a special charity run in support of three-year-old Arthur and his family.

It was an evening built around a simple idea: one run, one reason. 

Alongside the charity run, we were joined by TYR, giving runners the opportunity to lace up a pair of the TYR Maverick V1 and put them through their paces before and during the run.

But while we love giving runners the opportunity to try new shoes, Wednesday night was first and foremost about coming together as a community for Arthur.

Running for Arthur 

Arthur is just three years old and has been fighting High-Risk Metastatic Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.

After undergoing treatment over the past year, which had been working well, Arthur's family recently received the devastating news that new tumours had been found and that Arthur had relapsed.

His family have been told that the treatment available to them through the NHS can now only aim to keep Arthur comfortable and prolong his life.

But Arthur's family aren't giving up.

They have launched a fundraising campaign to help them explore potential treatment options in other countries. These options can be incredibly expensive, making fundraising and the support of the wider community hugely important to the family.

That was the reason behind Wednesday's run.

Every runner who turned up, every donation made and every person who helped spread the word was there to support Arthur and his family.

HWF x Stay Dialled x Kinisi

Wednesday also brought together three communities that share a passion for getting people moving: HWF Fitness, Stay Dialled Run Club and Kinisi Run Hub.

At Kinisi, community has always been an important part of what we want the shop to be about.

Running clubs, demo nights, workshops and events give us an opportunity to take what we do beyond the four walls of the shop and meet runners where they actually run.

But events like Wednesday show that the running community can achieve far more than simply bringing people together for a few miles.

When that community rallies around someone who needs support, running becomes a vehicle for something much more important.

TYR Maverick V1 Demo

As an added extra for the evening, TYR joined us to give runners the opportunity to demo the TYR Maverick V1.

Before setting off, runners could get fitted into a pair, head out on the charity run and experience the shoe properly while running.
