On Wednesday I took part in the sixth and final race in the Clive & Angela Thomas Street 5k Series organised by Wells City Harriers. The races take place on the second Wednesday of each month from October through March. Kinisi Run Hub are proud to be involved as a sponsor. Read Race Review 1 for more info about the series.

There was a decent turnout of runners but to be honest I was expecting to see a few more runners given it was the final race of the series. Despite this it was still a good event. As is usual at Street, we filled up the road across the zebra crossing which acts as the start line and then the race got underway.
It was a quick start but I quickly noticed that the depth we have had at other races wasn’t there and I soon found myself out front on my own in a solo time trial. The laps ticked by and I pushed myself to hold a relatively quick pace but as so often happens when you are running on your own your pace slows. I held on to take the win though and it was a good solid run out over 5k which was great to get in.
I won the race in 15:32 and was followed home by Thomas Dunford (Bristol & West AC) in 16:03 and Wayne Loveridge (Chard RR) in 16:25. The women’s race was won by Phoebe Aspinall (Unattached) in 19:34 with Ruth Chadney (Poole Runners) second in 19:58 and Louise Ashford (Unattached) third in 20:18. Congratulations to all 68 finishers! Full results here.
As it was the final race of the series there were series results. Everyone who took part in at least five out of the six events received a memento and overall series winners were announced.

Well done to everyone who raced and thank you to Wells City Harriers for another great event! It has been a great series and Kinisi Run Hub are proud to have supported.
