Run Smart: Feet First - Foot Health Workshop

On Monday we hosted a foot health workshop in our shop which covered everything runners need to know about keeping their feet healthy and race ready.

On Monday evening we hosted the first event in the Kinisi Run Hub Festival of Running 2026 as we gear up towards the Bristol Half Marathon & 10k on the 10th of May. The event was called Run Smart: Feet First which was a foot health workshop covering everything runners need to know about keeping feet healthy and race ready. A runner's feet do all the work on race day, so it makes sense to look after them!

The workshop was led by Emma Barnes who is an Associate Podiatrist at Footworks (a leading sports podiatrist in Bristol). Emma has over a decade of NHS experience as well as specialist training in musculoskeletal podiatry and ultrasound which she combines with her passion for sports medicine to really relate to runners.

Emma provided practical advice on blister prevention and toe nail care as well as actionable tips and tricks to keep feet healthy and happy. After the talk, Emma led us all through guided foot and toe strengthening exercises which was not only fun and engaging but also very informative and feasible to continue at home. She finished by answering questions and helped a few lucky attendees with a lesson in foot/toe taping.

We were also very luck to be joined by Logan, the founder of The Feats, who showcased their all-natural and science-backed active foot care products that help support training and racing. He gave an overview of the brand and a brief deep dive into each of their four core products. Following this every product was sampled, tested and discussed.

Overall, it was a relaxed and informative evening which will hopefully help attendees run more comfortably and confidently.

A big thank you to Emma and Logan for collaborating with us on this running workshop and thank you to everyone who attended the event and listened to what we had to say!

The Kinisi Run Hub Festival of Running 2026 continues on Wednesday with 5k run to demo Hylo running trainers, Silva hydration vests and Purendure energy gels followed by a sports nutrition workshop delivered by sports nutritionist Rachel White. Sign up to future events here
